Description
Bishop SK Mngomezulu & Lighthouse Bible Church "My Home, Your Home, Our Home"
This book is dedicated to and inspired by 20 Year Celebration of Lighthouse Bible Church that was held on 05 August 2017. Twenty One Branches of the congregation were heading to the celebration to thank God for a great achievement as a church being so united in Christ, working together to fulfil the word of God. Mathew 4:19 "Come, follow me and I will make you fishers of men"; said Jesus. Indeed, with a leadership of Bishop SK Mngomezulu the church has grown and developed Twenty One branches, still counting in different regions in KZN and Eastern Cape; South Africa.
The book captures different scenarios that aggressively show rewards of serving God Almighty with honesty and without compromise. It unfolds the power of sacrifices, hard work and dedication of the Bishop until he reaches his destiny. The Bishop becomes a living testimony and a leading example that portrays the fact that God can change something of less value and turn into something big and honourable.
As a church being operating at KwaMashu, which is regarded as one of the worst townships in the world, during the times of apartheid. Lighthouse Bible Church contributes to bring about change to the stigma attached to this township. This is one of the places that were mostly infested by political violence pre 1994 before the release of Dr Nelson Holihlahla Mandela.
During that era Bishop SK Mngomezulu, as a youth, was engaged in a political youth organisation by default, where the youth of that time was extremely involved in the struggle. Some of the youth became engaged in criminal activities due to poverty, unemployment, political dynamics and African diaspora. Some were recruited for Umkhonto Wesizwe and migrate to other African countries.
The church played a vital role on political activities in all South African Provinces in fight against apartheid. Even though I don't want to dwell on politics but it has a strong element that entails the journey of African sons and daughters, such as Bishop SK Mngomezulu. Mngomezulu became one of the strongest "comrades" in KwaMashu. His strong leadership skills started to show up during that period where his fellow comrades were abided to follow his orders, especially when it came to difficult and harsh decision making. The special factor that was amazing about him was that he could stand for the truth even if it could put him in danger. Just as much as he continues standing out for the truth in the Word of God as a Bishop.
